MEET THE GUYS
Meet the inspiring young men that make up the Zambian Vocal Collection.

ASWELL BANDA
My name is Aswell Banda the second last born of 10 children. As a member of a big family I learned to love and care more for others. My musical inspiration came a long time ago when we uAswell Bandased to sit around the fire singing as a family. I was young back then, but I really loved it when we sang because it made my mother happy. I have learned a lot from my mother. She never gave up on any one of us, as she was raising us alone. I therefore, want her to be happy in whatever I do. In 1994 I joined Vocal Collection {by then called; Zambian Acapella Boys Choir} and my life has never been the same. The Gospel music of the Lord Jesus Christ has brought a lot of meaning in my life.

Morris Chikwete MORRIS CHIKWETE
My name is Morris Chikwete. I come from a family of 5 children. I'm the first child in my family with two brothers and two sisters. I've pretty much grown up with my grand-parents. Growing up with them has really been a great journey in my life. They always encouraged me to grow up with God. So they have really helped me to see the Lord Jesus in a better way.

My sincere gratitude to my family for helping me in this Christian life, thank you all. Lastly to the Lord Jesus who continues to reveal himself to me in so many different ways.

Hobbies: Soccer, singing, playing basketball, skating and swimming. My favorite food is Nhshima with beans and chicken.

Mathews Chuba MATHEWS CHUBA
First and foremost I would like to thank God for giving me the talent to sing and the opportunity to share it with the world.

I was born in 1980 and being the last born of four children, life hasn't been favorable for me. But I really thank God who helped me find people who could help me through my entire life till I reached a certain stage in my education though not fully educated. Nevertheless, our singing has made who I am today.

Thanks:
I will not forget to thank my friends for being together without parting, till now. My family who has been supporting me, my wife, Candy who has been encouraging me in our singing as a group and, the people who are making this journey around the world possible. I will continue saying thanks to my personal Savior who continues directing and blessing my life, thank you God.

Kelvin Munchini KELVIN MUNCHINI
First I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has chosen me to have the gift of music in my heart and soul. Lord I believe, receive and accept everything, in your name.

My name is Kelvin Munchini, the 4th born 8 children. Born and raised in Zambia in the capital city, Lusaka and, in a small community called Kalingalinga where people think nothing good can come out of. Growing up, I never had a good education background. Thank God at the moment I'm doing correspondence high school and I'm looking forward to finishing. Moreover, God willing, I want to do accounting and can't wait for that moment to come, to be in college.

Mom I have hope to find a wife like you some day. In a distant far away future! Dad, after being with you I can honestly say, you are the best dad in the whole world. I hope to absorb and put to practice all that you've taught me and may your soul rest in eternal peace. I love you daddy.

Thanks to friends for their ongoing support, unconditional love, encouragement and my ZVC brothers for their hard work, patience and determination in continuing to serve God through song.

Obrien Munchini OBRIEN MUNCHINI
My name is Obrien Munchini, I come from a family of 8 children. My dad passed away in 2000. I have three wonderful brothers - Webster, Andrew, and Kelvin and four wonderful sisters, Melody, Mable, Precious and Jacqueline. I really thank God for them. They have been so dear to me. To my mother Magi, thank you for having been there for me when I needed you the most. I hope to have a wife with the same heart as you.

My thanks go to all my friends around the world who have been so supportive and for believing in me and in what am doing for the Lord. Last but not least, I would like to say thanks to my Hero John and all whole Stoltzfus family. You have been true friends and not just in good times, but also in bad times you have always been by our side. May the almighty God continue blessing and strengthening you.

My living Testimony: God is so awesome; He has done great things in my life. Couple of years ago I got very sick that I had even lost hope, but with the encouragement which my friends gave me I was able to look to God because I knew that power, healing, comfort and love comes from the Almighty God above. To live this life in Christ is to experience life on the highest level, with Christ living in me He directs my actions and desires and ambitions. As I yield myself more completely to Him I live with a sense of purpose and destiny that is determined by God and not my personal direction.

Hobbies/Likes: My hobbies are reading, writing letters, lifting weights, running the sound system, making friends, traveling, eating, nshima with chicken and playing soccer and basketball.

Verse: Joshua 1: 9; Have I not commended you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Frank Pupe FRANK PUPE
I am the 7th born of 10 children. I have four sisters and five brothers. I was raised and live in Kalingalinga, east of Lusaka the Capital of Zambia.

I love playing soccer and am now learning basketball

The best times are when I am on stage singing with the (guys) from Zambian Vocal Collection.

Before I met my Jesus, I wandered and sadness was all around me. I grew up without a Father and Mom didn't make enough money to meet all our needs, like having three meals a day, sending us to school, or even having clothes to wear. As a young person I was deeply lost, my life was never at peace. I didn't have anything to smile about and there was nothing that could give me joy or the peace that I feel now that I have Jesus.

When I learned that he loved and gave his life for me, I gave my life to him and things changed in my life. God is the only one who can give you peace and strengthen you in all your ways. He is a friend who will always be there in all times of your life here on earth and when all believers meet in the sweet, sweet beautiful land that he has prepared for me and you.

Kennedy Pupe KENNEDY PUPE
Kennedy Pupe is my name. I am the 8th born of 10 children and have 4 sisters and 5 brothers. My dad died when I was very young. My mom who I happen to have known and still know, was the most beautiful, loving and, hard, hard working mother who never said 'die' to difficulties.

Thank You God for your unfailing love. I love you and want to love you more and more. Continue directing my path.

'I love you mama. I'm grateful. You are so precious, you will always be. In my heart, you will always have a special place,' a chorus of a song I wrote to my mother but never had a chance to sing to her except once on the phone while on a two year tour in the US.

Hobbies/Favorites: Traveling, making friends, reading, writing songs, basketball, table tennis, movies and singing. Chinese food. Proverbs 3:5-6; Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path straight.

Chrispine CHRISPINE
Chrispine Katongo is my name. I am the third born in a family of three brothers and one sister whom I love dearly. Praise and glory to the Lord Almighty God who has blessed me with the gift of singing. I have been singing with the Zambian Vocal Collection since 1993. My soul and my heart find great joy praising God through singing. It is an honor to minister to mankind.

My special thanks go to the Lord for giving me the gift of singing. Also to my beloved mother and father for supporting and encouraging me. Thanks to all the people who have helped me to be strong in my Christianity.

I am also saying thanks to all the people who have supported our music. May the grace, mercy and peace from God the father be with you all? Jeremiah 29:11

Hobbies/Favorites: Apart from singing I love reading educative books, listening to gospel music and deeply love to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ our King forever.

Wilson Mwanza is my name. I come from a family of five children. I’m the fourth born child. Music has been part of me for more then ten years though my Mom and Dad never sang before. I got all the inspiration from my sister and my big brother who use to sing in a choir at church. I joined a small choir at my mom’s church when I was about 12 years old. Singing for our God has been the best thing of our lives. I thank my heavenly father for bringing to me my precious friends, the ZVC (Zambian Vocal Collection). All thanks to God for my Mom and Dad, my sister and brothers for being such an inspiration to me.
